Longzhao elm, also known as downed elm and weeping elm, originated in the Yellow River basin of China, and is a variant of the elm tree. In 1961, the "Arboriculture" edited by the Tree Teaching and Research Group of Nanjing Forestry College published by Agricultural Publishing House first recorded the variety of Longzhao Ulmus. The "Arboriculture of North China" published in 1984 recorded that it was cultivated in Hebei, Shanxi, and Henan in China, and it is now in Xinjiang. , Shaanxi, Inner Mongolia and other provinces.
The trunk of this species is relatively short and mostly twisted. The small branches have the characteristics of curling and drooping. The tree shape is relatively beautiful on the whole. It is widely used in northern greening and is a popular landscape tree in the northern region.
