Potash fertilizer, the full name is potassium fertilizer. For fertilizers with potassium as the main nutrient, the potassium content in plants generally accounts for 0.2% to 4.1% of the dry matter weight, second only to nitrogen. Potassium participates in the activation of more than 60 enzyme systems, photosynthesis, assimilation product transportation, carbohydrate metabolism and protein synthesis during plant growth and development. The existing domestic potash fertilizer production capacity is mainly concentrated in Golmud, Qinghai and Lop Nur, Xinjiang. In 2010, China produced a total of 3,967,569 tons of potash fertilizer (equivalent to pure), an increase of 12.7% over the same period in 2009.
