Galera provides superb control of the most aggressive weeds including mayweeds and thistles and suppression of cleavers. As well as yield robbing, these weeds can cause admixture penalties, harvesting problems and an increased need for drying if weed seed is harvested alongside the oilseed.
Galera can be applied in the autumn or spring, and can be used on all varieties of winter oilseed rape though better control of cleavers and sow-thistles is generally achieved in the spring when most have germinated. Control of these weeds in oilseed rape reduces weed seed return and benefits the whole rotation.
