Introduction:
2507 is a ferritic-austenitic (duplex) stainless steel. It combines many beneficial properties of ferritic steel and austenitic steel. Due to the high content of chromium and molybdenum, the steel has very good properties. The ability to resist pitting corrosion, crevice corrosion and uniform corrosion. The dual-phase microstructure ensures that the steel has a high resistance to stress corrosion cracking, and the mechanical strength is also high.
Application areas:
Used in the oil and natural gas industry; offshore rock-breaking oil platforms (heat exchanger tubes, water treatment and water supply systems, fire fighting systems, water spray systems, water stabilization systems; petrochemical equipment; desalination (desalination) equipment (and high pressure in equipment) Pipes, seawater pipes); machinery and structural components that require both high strength and high corrosion resistance; combustion (waste) gas purification equipment. It is a duplex stainless steel that is resistant to local corrosion and is characterized by high resistance to pitting. It is good, and has the characteristics of high strength, chloride stress corrosion resistance, and weldability. It is very suitable for heat exchange equipment in the chemical, petroleum, petrochemical and power industries that use river water, groundwater and sea water as the cooling medium.
Corrosion resistance and main use environment:
The high chromium and molybdenum content of 2507 duplex steel makes it have strong resistance to overall corrosion against organic acids such as formic acid and acetic acid. 2507 duplex steel also has strong corrosion resistance to inorganic acids, especially those containing chlorides. Compared with 904L, 2507 duplex steel has stronger corrosion resistance to diluted sulfuric acid mixed with chloride ions. 904L is an austenitic alloy specially designed to resist corrosion by pure sulfuric acid. 316L can not be used in hydrochloric acid environment, it may suffer local corrosion or overall corrosion. 2507 duplex steel is used in diluted hydrochloric acid environment and has strong resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion.
