Some people say that winter is not a good time for decoration, but it is not. Decoration in any season has its own advantages and disadvantages, as long as you master the correct method, you can also safely decorate in winter.
In the process of decorating the house, floor paving is a very important link. So, what are the precautions for paving floors in winter?
1. The floor should be "reheated"
In winter, the outdoor temperature is close to 0 ℃, the northern region is below 0 ℃, the indoor and outdoor temperature difference is extremely large. After the floor is transported to the pavement site by long-distance transportation, the package should not be opened immediately because the floor temperature is low and the indoor temperature is relatively high. When the package is opened, condensation will appear on the floor and it is easy to cause deformation.
The correct way is to "raise" the whole package of the floor for a few days and let the floor adapt to the surrounding environment before opening the package.
2. The keel should "regain moisture"
Wooden keels are usually sold in bundles and stored in the warehouse for a long time, usually with higher water content. After buying it, be sure to open the bundle and let it dry. Let the wooden keel with high water content evaporate at home for a week, and then balance with the indoor water content before starting construction.
Of course, you can also choose the floor with its own keel, so that you don't need to consider the "wet back" problem of the keel when paving.
3. Moisture proof should be in place
Many communities are now newly built. It is especially important to pay attention to the pavement of such houses in winter. The moisture content of the cement floor will be much higher than that of the houses already in use, which is easy to cause the floor to absorb moisture. Many and deformed.
It is best if the house goes through a dry season throughout the summer and is raised. If you are eager to decorate your residence, remember that the ground moisture-proof film must be thickened and isolated from the floor. The house should also be ventilated and dehumidified frequently, and the floor should be well maintained.
4. "Leave gap" should be appropriate
In the south, the winter climate is relatively dry. At this time, the pavement floor must absorb moisture and expand in the spring and summer rainy season, so a relatively ample expansion joint should be reserved.
In the north, the rainy season is not obvious, but the floor will also expand due to heat, so the expansion joints should be reserved properly.
5. Temperature and humidity should be adjusted
In winter, the air humidity is relatively low, and many consumers also purchase humidifiers to adjust the indoor humidity. Keeping the indoor relative humidity above 40% is not only good for human health, but also good for floor maintenance.
6. Install and raise
Do not place furniture immediately after the floor is paved. It is no problem to put furniture on the second day after installation. If it is solid wood, it will take a few days to place the furniture. It should be noted that heavy furniture should be laid down smoothly, not symmetrically placed, to avoid arching of the floor.
