Absorbable sutures are divided into sheep intestinal sutures, chemical synthetic sutures (PGA), and pure natural collagen sutures according to different materials and absorption levels.
1. Sheep gut thread: It is made from healthy animal sheep gut intestine and contains collagen, so it is not necessary to remove the thread after sewing. There are two types of medical gut: ordinary gut and chrome gut, which can be absorbed. The length of time required for absorption depends on the thickness of the intestinal line and the condition of the tissue. Generally, it can be absorbed within 6 to 20 days, but the individual differences of patients affect the absorption process, even not absorption. The gut is packed in disposable sterile packaging, which is easy to use.
(1) Ordinary intestinal suture: easy-to-absorb suture made of submucosa of sheep intestine or bovine intestine. It absorbs quickly, but the tissue responds slightly to the gut. It is mostly used to fasten tissue or subcutaneous tissue to ligate blood vessels and suture infected wounds. Generally used in the mucosa of the uterus and bladder.
(2) Chromic gut: This gut is made by chromic acid treatment, which can slow down the rate of tissue absorption. It causes less inflammation than ordinary gut. Generally used in gynecology and urinary system surgery, it is a suture often used in kidney and ureter surgery, because silk thread will promote the formation of stones. Soak in saline during use and straighten after softening to facilitate surgical operation.
2. Chemical synthesis line (PGA, PGLA, PLA): a kind of polymer linear material made by modern chemical technology, made by thread drawing, coating and other processes, generally absorbed within 60-90 days, the absorption is stable. If it is the cause of the production process, there are other non-degradable chemical components, the absorption is not complete.
3. Pure natural collagen suture: taken from the tendon of special animal otter, the content of pure natural collagen is high, the production process does not involve the chemical composition, and has the characteristics of collagen; it is the fourth generation in the true sense Suture. It has complete absorption, high tensile strength, good biocompatibility, and promotes cell growth. According to the thickness of the thread body, it is generally absorbed within 8-15 days, and the absorption is stable and reliable, without obvious individual differences.
