Sowing reproduction
Poplars have small seeds, and their capsules are cracked when they are mature. Therefore, the seeds are collected by cutting the ears or collecting them from the ground. Seeds are easy to lose germination ability and should be picked and sown. Sow seedlings on sandy loam soil with a lot of humus.
Cutting propagation
1. Choose high-quality seeds
Choose annual cutting seedlings, with first-level seedlings and the middle and lower parts of second-level seedlings as seed strips. The third-level seedlings cannot be used for seedlings if they are not fully developed. The parts with poor lignification of the tips and the seedlings with pests and diseases cannot be used for seedlings.
2. Cutting cuttings and processing
Cut the cuttings 16cm-18cm long and 1cm between the bud openings. Cut the cuttings and bundle them into bundles soaked in clean water for insertion to ensure that the cuttings do not lose water.
3. Cutting time, method and density
1. Cutting time
Month to early March.
2. Cutting method
Insert straight, insert the cuttings into the soil 2/3-3/4, be careful not to insert upside down, tighten the soil after inserting and fill with water once.
3. Cutting density
Adopt a wide-row dense planting pattern, with a spacing of 40cm×60cm, 60cm×70cm or 35cm×70cm.
