⑴ Compatible with the characteristics of the fabric: The sewing thread and the fabric are made of the same or similar raw materials to ensure the uniformity of shrinkage, heat resistance, abrasion resistance, durability, etc., and avoid the difference between the thread and the fabric to cause appearance shrinkage.
⑵ Consistent with the type of clothing: For special-purpose clothing, special function sewing threads should be considered. For example, elastic sewing threads need to be used for elastic clothing, and fire-fighting clothing needs to be heat-resistant, flame-retardant and waterproof.
⑶ Coordinating with the stitch shape: different stitches are used in different parts of the garment, and the sewing thread should be changed accordingly. For example, the overlock stitch needs to use bulky or deformed thread, and the double stitch should choose a thread with large extensibility. Seam and shoulder stitches should be firm, while buttonhole stitches need to be abrasion-resistant.
⑷ Consistent with quality and price: The quality and price of sewing thread should be consistent with the grade of clothing. High-end clothing uses high-quality and high-priced sewing thread, and medium and low-grade clothing uses ordinary quality and moderately priced sewing thread.
