Health hazards: The decomposition product of hydrogen fluoride is irritating and can cause irritation to the eyes and respiratory mucosa. In severe cases, bronchitis, pneumonia, and even reflex asphyxia can occur.
Combustion and explosion hazard: The product is non-flammable, toxic, irritating, and severely damages mucous membranes, upper respiratory tract, eyes and skin.
first-aid
Skin contact: Take off contaminated clothing, and rinse the skin thoroughly with soap and water.
Eye contact: Lift the eyelid and rinse with running water or normal saline. Seek medical attention.
Inhalation: quickly leave the scene to a place with fresh air. Keep the airway unobstructed. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. If breathing stops, give artificial respiration immediately. Seek medical attention.
Ingestion: Drink enough warm water to induce vomiting. Seek medical attention.
Fire-fighting measures
Hazardous characteristics: It can react violently with alkali metals.
Hazardous combustion products: hydrogen fluoride, aluminum oxide.
Extinguishing method: Use plenty of water to extinguish the fire. Use water mist to dissipate smoke and irritating gases.
Emergency treatment
Emergency treatment: Isolate the leaking and contaminated area, and get in and out of it. It is recommended that emergency response personnel wear dust masks (full face masks) and gas-proof suits. Do not directly touch the leakage.
Small amount of leakage: avoid dust, use a clean shovel to collect in a dry, clean, covered container.
Large leakage: collect and recycle or transport to waste disposal sites for disposal.
Disposal and storage
Operation precautions: airtight operation, local exhaust. Operators must undergo special training and strictly abide by the operating procedures. It is recommended that operators wear self-priming filter dust masks, chemical safety glasses, gas-penetrating anti-virus suits, and latex gloves. Avoid generating dust. Avoid contact with acids. When handling, load and unload with care to prevent damage to packaging and containers. Equipped with leakage emergency treatment equipment. Empty containers may be harmful residues.
Storage precautions: Store in a cool, ventilated warehouse. The package is sealed. It should be stored separately from acids and edible chemicals, and mixed storage should not be avoided. The storage area should be equipped with suitable materials to contain the leakage.
