Carpet is a famous traditional handicraft in China. Chinese carpet has a history of more than 2,000 years. It is famous for handmade carpet. It can be traced back to more than 3,000 years. Bai Juyi, a great poet of the Tang Dynasty, wrote in his poem Red Line Carpet the famous phrase "the cold people need warmth, but few clothes are taken for lichens". There are real things to be tested, and there are more than 2,000 years. According to the documentary records, from Tang and Song Dynasties to Ming and Qing Dynasties, more and more kinds of carpets were produced. The carpet is usually made of cotton, wool, hemp and paper rope. The knitted carpet produced in China uses high strength yarn strand rope as warp and ground weft yarn. On the warp yarn, color wool weft yarn is inserted into the warp yarn according to the pattern to form wool, which is then knitted by shearing and brushing. Its front is densely covered with towering plush, with solid texture and good elasticity. Especially the carpets produced in Hetian area of Xinjiang are more precious and have the reputation of "oriental carpet". The carpets produced there are not only of good quality, but also of great output. A 1250 kilogram carpet woven by the Xinjiang Hall of the Great Hall of the People is praised as "the king of carpets". In 1966, a cotton blanket unearthed from Lanxi, Zhejiang Province, was 2.51 meters long and 1.18 meters wide. It was plain weave with flannel on both sides and was flat and thick. After identification, the material used is straw cotton fiber. This cotton carpet was woven in the Southern Song Dynasty. This is the earliest cotton blanket known so far. Thus it can be seen that the carpet weaving technology has reached a very high level at that time. At present, Xinjiang carpet has gradually promoted the new carpet burning technology, so that the quality of carpet has been improved. They have developed more than 540 and 720 carpets with exquisite workmanship and high artistic value. It began in the pastoral area of the Northwest plateau. In order to meet the needs of nomadic life, the local minorities used the rich wool twist yarn to weave colorful kneeling mats, blankets and carpets. As a result of the joint creation of the Uygur, Mongolian and Tibetan peoples, and through the Silk Road and exchanges with other countries in the Middle East, excellent ancient Chinese carpet art has gradually formed.
