When fishing friends buy fishing line, they usually listen to the introduction of the owner of the fishing tackle shop, or buy a brand they are familiar with. However, for a fishing line that you don't understand, the following method can generally be used to determine the quality of the fishing line.
1. Diameter. Some fishing friends use a vernier caliper to measure the wire diameter, which still has a certain degree of accuracy for thick wires above No. 2. But measuring thin lines is very inaccurate.
The more suitable measuring tool that fishermen can find is the spiral micrometer. The spiral micrometer measures the size of rigid objects. When measuring the fishing line, the data will be significantly smaller. But you can compare the thickness of the two wires. Twist the adjusting knob with the same force to pull the fishing line under test. When the tension is the same, the degree of clamping will be roughly the same.
This step is extremely important: if the diameter increases by a few microns, the strength may increase by several tens of percent. Because the pulling force increases squarely with the diameter.
2. The fishing line of the same thickness is stronger than knotting. After the two threads are knotted, pull them in opposite directions, and try a few more times.
3. Scrape. Place two identical threads side by side, and use your fingernails to scrape vigorously several times. Look at the degree of curl. Then use your fingertips to flatten and see the degree of recovery.
4. See the extension of the main line of fishing line. Take about 1 meter of thread and pull it repeatedly with vigorous force. After it breaks, measure the length again to see the amount of elongation. Note: It's not like what some fishing friends said, pull it to see how much it stretches and how flexible it is.
5. The word "touch" is unreliable. Some high-end fishing lines are barrel-packed when they come in and back, and they are not rolled in parallel when they are wound. This creates pressure on each other and is not smooth. Such a line is not necessarily bad, it is very likely to be a particularly good line. On the contrary, a very smooth line is not necessarily good. It is even impossible to touch the thickness. How can the diameter of a few micrometers be touched? However, the diameter of a few micrometers may cause a change in tension of several tens of percent.
6. Look at transparency, look at Chuishun. This makes sense, but the transparency and vertical smoothness do not affect performance, just look better.
