1. Natural fiber sewing thread
· Cotton sewing thread ———— A sewing thread made from cotton fiber through bleaching, sizing, waxing, etc. Cotton sewing thread can be divided into no light (or flexible thread), silk light and wax light. Cotton sewing thread has low strength and poor heat resistance, and is not suitable for high-speed sewing. It is mainly used for sewing cotton fabrics and high-temperature ironing clothes, but the disadvantage is poor elasticity and abrasion resistance.
· Silk Thread——Filament or silk thread made of natural silk has excellent gloss, and its strength, elasticity and abrasion resistance are better than cotton thread. Suitable for sewing all kinds of silk clothing, high-end woolen clothing, fur and leather clothing, etc.
2. Synthetic fiber sewing thread
· Polyester sewing thread——Made from polyester filament or short fiber, it has high strength, good elasticity, wear resistance, low shrinkage, and good chemical stability. But the melting point is low, the high speed is easy to melt, the needle eye is blocked, and the thread is easily broken. Pay attention to the selection of the needle. It is mainly used in denim, sportswear, leather products, woolen materials, and military uniforms. It is the most widely used sewing thread currently.
Polyester fiber is a kind of high-quality synthetic fiber. It is used to produce high-strength sutures. It is second only to nylon threads in various types of sutures and ranks second. Its shrinkage is very small, and it shrinks less than 1% after proper shaping, so the stitches can always be kept flat and beautiful without shrinkage. Abrasion resistance is second only to nylon. Low moisture regain, good resistance to high temperature, low temperature, light and water. Therefore, polyester thread is a very widely used variety, which has replaced cotton sewing thread in many occasions. Polyester thread has a wide range of applications. It can be used to sew clothing on cotton fabrics, chemical fiber fabrics and blended fabrics. The special polyester thread is also an excellent thread for the footwear and leather industry.
