Trees, up to 12 meters in height, ovoid dark brown in winter buds, twigs gray-brown glabrous or yellow-bearded, with lenticels. Odd-pinnate compound leaves, opposite, with petioles 15-20 cm long. The middle leaf shaft has grooves and glabrous, or there are rusty tufts between small petioles. The leaves are usually 7 or 7-9 pieces, nearly leathery, elliptical or elliptic-ovate, 3.5-10 cm long and 1.7-5 cm wide, with acuminate or obtuse apex. The base is broad and wedge-shaped, with irregular jagged or wavy edges. The surface is pale green and glabrous, the back is glabrous or pubescent along the veins, the midrib is concave on the surface and the back is convex, the lateral veins are not obvious on the surface, and the back is slightly convex, sessile or short stalked. The panicle grows laterally or terminally on the branches of the year, 10-15 cm long and loose. The total pedicel is glabrous, the pedicel is slender and about 5 mm long, and the calyx is irregularly divided into a bell shape and no petals. The stamens have 2 anthers, ovate or oblong-ovate, shorter than the filaments, and the style has a club-like stigma. Two-lobed samara, oblanceolate 2.8-3.5 cm long, 4-5 mm thick, apex obtuse or slightly concave, with 1 seed, flowering in April and fruiting in August to September.
