Potash fertilizer, the full name is potassium fertilizer. For fertilizers with potassium as the main nutrient, the potassium content in plants generally accounts for 0.2% to 4.1% of the dry matter weight, second only to nitrogen. Potassium participates in the activation of more than 60 enzyme systems, photosynthesis, assimilation product transportation, carbohydrate metabolism and protein synthesis during plant growth and development. The existing domestic potash fertilizer production capacity is mainly concentrated in Golmud, Qinghai and Lop Nur, Xinjiang. In 2010, China produced a total of 3,967,569 tons of potash fertilizer (equivalent to pure), an increase of 12.7% over the same period in 2009. According to the regional distribution of potash fertilizer production, North China accounted for 45,200 tons, a year-on-year increase of 41.16%; Central South accounted for 324,600 tons, an increase of 25.93%; Northwest accounted for 3.5520 tons, an increase of 13.45%; Eastern China accounted for 10,000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 99.78% The southwest accounted for 12.56 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 6.69%; the northeast accounted for 33,200 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 20.74%.
