ABS board is an emerging material in the board industry. Its full name is acrylonitrile/butadiene/styrene copolymer board. ABS board is a polymer with a large output and a wide range of applications. It organically unifies the various properties of PS, SAN and BS, and has excellent mechanical properties of toughness, hardness and rigidity.
ABS board has excellent mechanical properties, its impact strength is excellent, and it can be used at extremely low temperatures; ABS has excellent wear resistance, good dimensional stability, and oil resistance, and can be used for bearings under medium loads and speeds. The creep resistance of ABS is larger than that of PSF and PC, but smaller than that of PA and POM. The bending strength and compressive strength of ABS board are poor in plastics. The mechanical properties of ABS board are greatly affected by temperature.
ABS board is not affected by water, inorganic salts, alkalis and many kinds of acids, but it is soluble in ketones, aldehydes and chlorinated hydrocarbons. It will cause stress cracking when corroded by glacial acetic acid and vegetable oil. ABS board has poor weather resistance and is prone to degradation under the action of ultraviolet light; after half a year outdoors, the impact strength has dropped by half.
ABS board has excellent impact strength, good dimensional stability, dyeability, good molding and machining, high mechanical strength, high rigidity, low water absorption, good corrosion resistance, simple connection, non-toxic and tasteless, and has excellent Chemical properties and electrical insulation properties. It can be heat-resistant without deformation, and has high impact toughness under low temperature conditions. It is also a hard, non-scratch, and non-deformable material. Low water absorption; high dimensional stability. Conventional ABS board is not very white, but its toughness is very good. It can be cut with a shearing machine or punched with a die.
The heat distortion temperature of ABS board is 93~118℃, and the product can be increased by about 10℃ after annealing. ABS can still show a certain degree of toughness at -40°C, and can be used in the temperature range of -40~100°C.
Among the plastic sheet products produced by PVC sheet manufacturers, the transparent ABS sheet has very good transparency and excellent polishing effect. It is the preferred material to replace PC sheet. Compared with acrylic, it has very good toughness and can meet the needs of detailed processing of the product. The disadvantage of PVC board manufacturers is that transparent ABS is relatively expensive.
